Reports on education, Illinois Wesleyan University, Hedding Seminary, Central Illinois Female College, Fulton Seminary; temperance; Sunday Schools; and the Methodist Book Concern are included. Resolutions on the 'State of our Country' "favor prosecution of the present war for the preservation of the Union and of constitutional liberty, until the rebellion is completely subdued, and the authority of the Government re-established in all the States, at whatever sacrifice of material or political interest." Byrd, whose bibliography ends in 1858, does not mention the Central Illinois Conference, although his entry #341 discusses the formation of the Illinois Conference in 1824 and its later division into other Conferences.
