C: 1942, 1944 Second Printing, Alfred A. Knopf. 5-3/8" x 7-1/4", 261 pgs. VG- hardcover, Good unclipped DJ. Ink greeting dated Aug 1948 on first endpage; brown spots on a couple pages and by spine on inside of the covers. A beautiful old Colonial house in the suburbs of Philadelphia was all that was left to Marjorie Beecham and her mother. The house had been in Marjorie s family for generations and was literally filled with antiques. These gave Marjorie the captivating idea of turning the house into an antique shop.
