About this Item
Fourth Printing. Signed and Inscribed by by the dedicatee's father Baron von Falz-Fein. 'Baron Eduard Oleg Alexandrowitsch von Falz-Fein (born 14 September 1912) is a Russian-born businessman, journalist, public figure and sportsman from Liechtenstein. He served as a "sports diplomat" who initiated the Olympic movement in Liechtenstein and was vice president of Liechtenstein Olympic Committee in the mid-1930s. In 1951 and from 1953 to 1973, he was President of the Liechtenstein Cycling Association. He was born in Gavrilovka, Kherson Oblast. Falz-Fein funded much of the research on the identification of the Romanov family He is a cousin of the late Olympic bobsledder Eduard Theodor von Falz-Fein.' If you noticed the 'is' in the description that's because Mr. Falz-Fein is still alive at 105. Good life being a Barron. If you're looking to buy a signed copy of this book, this may be the one. It appears to have been treated like royalty. Take a look at the photographs of the covers. They are exceptionally clean. They don't show any wear. The book is very solidly bound. The gilt lettering on the front is very bright. The interior of the book is close to perfect. I didn't see any soiling anywhere. There aren't any markings. There aren't any attachments. And with the exception of the Baron's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The only imperfection: a tiny crease at the tip of the bottom corner of the last page. The dust jacket is what sets it apart from a few of the others similar books. You can see it in the first few photographs. It is very clean. It has almost no wear at all, just a little crinkling at the top edge of the spine. There are no tears on the jacket. It is not clipped. The flaps are in very good condition. The jacket will be fitted into a protective cover. Seller Inventory # 001708
