AUTHOR BIO : The author, Jón Stefánsson, was a pioneer of the Icelandic settlement in Manitoba, living first at Gimli, Manitoba, then at Steep Rock, Manitoba - where he engaged in farming, fishing and writing. 0THER : Considerable Canadian content: includes a toast to New Iceland, a poem about Stephan G. Stephansson, two poems on New Iceland (i.e., in Manitoba), poem about Selkirk (a town in Manitob) a poem on Gimli, a poem about an individual in Gimli, etc. Referenced in Hjartar, page 29. Hjartar states that this book differs from same-named publication of 1927 - the content is different, as are the number of pages, and the two volumes are published by (at least nominally) different publishing houses in Winnipeg.
