Duodecmo. 47pp. Tan and grey wrappers with illustration of the author and text in black and white on the front cover. The work is Polish-born Yiddish writer Joseph Opatoshu's (1886-1954) short story dealing with the lynching of a young black man in the state of Georgia. The story first appeared in the Warsaw daily "Der moment", on September 5th, 1922, and was later reprinted in a scarce collection of Opatoshu's short works, the following year. *"It is safe to contend that no other Yiddish writer offers a more graphic examination of racist violence towards African-Americans than Opatoshu does in the.pages of this story". Text in Yiddish, with both a Yiddish and a Polish title page. Wrappers with some light rubbing to extremities, and some light smudges to the covers. Interior with some light smudges to the title page. Pages throughout lightly age toned. Wrappers in good+, interior in very good- condition overall. Hebrew: ???? ????????, ?????????
