No. 1369 of 1480 copies printed by the Chiswick Press on Vidalon handmade paper. "I have always regarded her [Mona Wilson's] book as the most important biographical account of Blake to have appeared since the second edition of Gilchrist's 'Life' [of William Blake] in 1880" (Geoffrey Keynes, from his preface to the Oxford edition of Blake: Complete Writings, quoted in Dreyfus 40). Very good, well-preserved copy overall; contents fine, light edgewear, small bump to the tips, parchment backing a bit soiled and with a couple of tiny punctures; light offsetting from pastedowns to facing blank.
