Leather boards. Boards have edge rubbing and chipping. Spine is worn with cracks and chipping. Title plate is detached from spine and stuck to some tape (see photograph). Front board is detached, as well as first front free endpaper (this endpaper is missing upper corner as well and has previous owner's name penciled on it). The second front free endpaper is partially detached. Pages have age toning and foxing. The rest of the book is still well-bound. There are no markings, writing, underlining, or highlighting in margins or text block. Rev. Freeborn Garrettson (1752 ? 1827) was an American clergyman, and one of the first American-born Methodist preachers. He entered the Methodist ministry in 1775 and travelled extensively to evangelize in several states. He was called Methodism's "Paul Revere". Garrettson was an outspoken abolitionist. SCARCE.
