Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 7 x 10". Blue embossed cloth with gilt stamping to spine and front panel; gilded top edge; frontispiece portrait of Adams with tissue covering. Spine ends mildly crimped, some rubbing to edges and corners, cloth rubbed to board in a small spot on bottom right corner of front panel; previous owner's bookplate affixed to inside front cover, short penciled note on flyleaf, endpapers mildly toned, else a clean, tight copy. 552 pages, index. This was followed by a second volume in 1938. Edition not stated but believed to be a first. Size: 7 x 10". Bookseller Inventory # 000763
