Book condition: very good, very scarce first edition with dust jacket, preface by Stephen Vincent Benet, part of the Yale series of younger poets, contains 45 poems staring with Letter to a Comrade who is noted as Ellen Weinberg, dust jacket features red letters on a green background and shows a light mark to top front, some sunning to perimeter and spine which shows a light scuff to tail and tiny chips off top, backed with archival paper, mylar cover, red cloth boards in excellent condition with only a very light rub to bottom edge, minor shading on pastedowns and endpapers, two names in ink on ffep where the upper right corner is clipped to a depth of 1 inch otherwise interior immaculate, binding tight, 94 pages, 6.25 X 9.5 inches.
