From the Publisher: A portion of the proceeds for the sale of this book is a donation to support the work of the Northeast Children's Literature Collections (NCLC) in the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center at the University of Connecticut Libraries. The NCLC acquires preserves and makes available a research collection of illustrated American children's literature. Consisting of over 13,000 historically and artistically significant children's books and manuscript collections of contemporary children's authors and illustrators in the Northeast, the collections are housed in the Dodd Research Center. Among the authors and illustrators with significant manuscript holdings are: Natalie Babbitt, Barbara Cooney, Tomie dePaola, Eleanor Estes, Leonard Everett Fisher, Lillian Hoban, Nonny Hogogrian, Ruth Krauss, James Marshall, Barry Moser, Richard Scarry, Marc Simont, Esphyr Slobodkina, and Ed Young., The University Libraries welcomes private support for the acquisition, processing, and preserving of unique research collections such as those in the NCLC.
