Five consecutive issues of the weekly magazine The Leisure Hour, from August 5 to September 2, 1852, relatively early in the Australian Gold Rush era. Articles of particular interest: "Australia. It's General Features and Resources; Its Gold-fields; Its Agricultural and Pastoral Life; Emigrants and Emigration; New South Wales and Victoria." The Australian article chain continued for two more weeks, with assorted 'stray notes' in later editions. The magazine ran weekly from 1852-1880, and then monthly until 1905. 5 issues, Volume I, No. 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 8vo, cream paper wraps, disbound, slt. ruffled at bound edge, otherwise clean and bright.
