9.0 x 5.5 inches. In illustrated limp card covers with newer maroon hard card envelope in maroon hard card slip case, both with gilt logo to front and gilt title to spine. In good condition. Covers slightly rubbed around edges with small chips and tears. Mild foxing to edges. Several small, old repairs to edges. Occasional foxing spots inside. The slip case and envelope are much newer and provide protection for the original paperback covers. 396 pp. With two colour plates, one with tissue guard. A collection of stories in French. Subjects include Frederick Barbarossa, Saint Theresa, Dante?s Inferno, Robert the Devil, and other figures from history. Many of the stories concern the fate of the subject after their death.
