"This particular item is confusing in the history of its publication. There is no stated publication date in this volume but it is known that George H. Doran Company merged with Doubleday in 1927, making it the largest publishing house in the world. But this book apparently is a publication by Doran before the merger and by the misspelling of the word "froward" on page 33 in the Fifth Philosopher's Song, this is apparently the first publication of this title which came in 1920. This copy is in very good status with the soft purple paper covering and darker purple linen spine still holding admirably after nearly 100 years. There is only very minor edge wear to the boards though one corner is bumped and one very small eighth-inch gouge has left a bit of the paper loose. The two paper labels on the cover and spine are still complete and firmly attached. There is just a bit of handling wear and rubbing to the soft paper cover. The interior shows some modest wear and on three pages there is some staining from an unknown source that does not cover or compromise the text itself. The soft deckled edges of the soft paper used have worn somewhat smooth but still the text paper is in very good assemblage. This is original text and is neither copied nor reprinted by any fashion. 80 pages.". Seller Inventory # 1505-238
