A Very Good Nineteenth Century volume in brown cloth with still bright gilt decorations on front cover and spine titles. Rear panel is rubbed overall. Crown and tail are very gently bumped; corner tips worn. Weak front and rear hinges (exposed webbing), but still a tight text block. Two 'Unitarian Sunday School Library" stamps, dated 1893 are present on front paste-down and on a blank front end-paper. Illustrated with fabulous engravings throughout. Page margins have mildly age-toned with a few finger smudges to same. Scattered light foxing. Two pages of publishers ads at rear. Overall, a delightful vintage text. No jacket.
