TRANSLATOR'S BIO: Transltor Bjarni Þórarinsson 1855-1940, resided in Canada for 16 years. He served as the Lutheran minister of the Tabernacle (Icelandic) Lutheran Church in Winnipeg from 1900-1903 (see Kristjanson, p. 242). He immigrated to Canada in 1900 and served as pastor of the Tjalbúð Congregation in Winnipeg, then as pastor of the Herðubreið Congregation at Big Point near Lake Manitoba.
