17 cm. unpaged [16p.] Profusely illustrated throughout with color drawings. Just a few dings around the edges, one inch tiny chip missing from lower rear corner, wrappers very lightly soiled, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Born 1849 in Bedford, England, Cecelia Havergal was a popular religious poet of the 19th and early 20th centuries who continued to write under her maiden name after her marriage to the Rev. Frederick Bickerton Grant in 1881. Though English, her many works of poetry were published in the U.S., including Little Singers, which are children?s poems concerned with birds. Kaufmann & Strauss Company was established in 1890 located in New York, NY. The company was known for making many styles of lithograph paper signs, tin signs, advertising plates and serving trays.
