(lxxxv). 32 monochrome plates. I monochrome lithograph bound-in, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. Uncredited foreword. List of illustrations. Drawings of the concentration camps by artist Zinowij Tolkaczew (1903-1977) who as a member of the Russian army helped to liberate Bircenau-Auschwitz. Text in Polish/Russian/English/French/German. Edition limited to 1000 copies of which this is number 82. Stamped and signed in ink by the artist on the colophon page. Unknown edition dated 1945 on the colophon page and 1946 on the title page. Internally clean and unmarked. Age toning at the extremities. Glue bleed through affects the pasted down endpapers and the joints. Free end papers are age toned from contact with the dustjacket flaps. Edges are dust soiled and spotted. Bend at the head corner of the front panel board affects page corners of adjacent pages. Light bump to the tail corner affects all pages.Tan cloth covered boards with stamped titles, illustration and borders on the front panel. Faint age toning at the extremities and some light soiling on the back panel. Illustrated dustjacket is brittle and age toned and has split along the spine edges and foredge of the back panel. Chips missing along the spine edge, back foredge. Oil stain on the tail edge of the back panel. Parts are reassembled and protected by clear plastic library wrap. (.500 g. / 1.1 lbs.)
