A book about siege machines, with text and illustrations extracted from a book on Chinese history. All hand-written. At the end of the book is a record suggesting that a man called Shouji Jinsuke living in Nagasaki saw the original Chinese book and translated it into Japanese in this manuscript in 1853. Includes more than 30 illustrations on siege machines in the centre of the book, also hand-drawn. Small holes to covers, and other minor wear. 34 leaves. Discolouration on all edges.
