Harper & Brothers, New York, 1869, first US edition; 8vo, 150 x 240mm, pp 335 plus 12pp priced catalogue of Harper's publications; well illustrated with vignette and near full page illustrations by Marcus Stone; text in two columns; contemporary brown panelled cloth, spine titled gilt; corners bumped and the two lower ones somewhat frayed; well rebacked with the original spine laid down; yellow end papers and internally generally clean and firm; overall a good copy of the first US edition of one of Trollope's best known works. The UK edition was first published in May of the same year, 1869. Seller Inventory # 001240
