Mild soiling to front board, else near fine condition; the jacket is quite nice with just a touch of soiling and a lightly faded spine. Ellis was a missionary who visited Hawaii in 1822-23. With several illustrations from engravings. This interesting work includes much on native life in the South Seas, whaling and fishing, the spread of Christianity, indigenous religion, and more.
