About this title

The classic love story of a young couple divided by the death of the wife. Jean Humphry's suffering is so great that she asks her husband, Derek, to help her die. He brings her lethal medications, which she takes in his presence. This l978 book sold worldwide, a bestseller in Britain and Australia, presaged the rise of the euthanasia movement in the l980s. Now a 'cult book'.

About the Author:

Derek Humphry, an international journalist and author (London Sunday Times/Los Angeles Times) is the author of 13 books over the last 30 years, six of them on euthanasia. His first book, Because They're Black, won the Martin Luther King Memorial Award. His bestseller was 'Final Exit' (l991) which is still the leading book in its field.
