The author, Hassan Ibrahim Hassan (1892-1968), was a well-respected historian, author, and professor of Islamic History at the University of Cairo and as Rector of the University of Assiut. He had also taught at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Rabat and lectured at many other universities.
