14.5 by 10 cms. 144 pp. recased professionally in green boards with gilt spine title, pages 143/144 have been replaced in facsimile to match the existing. In very good condition and quite scarce. Mangan, 1803-1849 was both intensely Irish in his sympathies and committed to experimentation in literary technique. He has often been compared with Edgar Allen Poe. His short life was bleak and miserable as probably befits an eccentric genius but he had an inspiring effect on later Irish writers,Joyce and Yeats. Seller Inventory # 12007
