About this Item

Hardcover, no dustjacket, this copy is from the personal library of Egyptian-born author/economist Charles P. Issawi and is signed by him on the front end-paper, Issawi has been referred to as "the father of the study of the modern economic history of the Middle East," Issawi has placed light pencil marks in the margins of some of the pages, these could be easily erased but we consider them an asset and they do not interfere with any of the text, a clean copy with a tight, square binding, the dark blue spine is very slightly sunned and there is a tiny crease to the top corner, 502 pages, includes a Glossary, Bibliography and Indexes, "An attempt has been made to collect all available sources, Eastern and Western, printed and manuscript, in order to give as full an account as possible of all the education reforms undertaken in Egypt" ; Signed by Notable Personage, Unrelated.
