The eleventh edition of this classic work on guns and shooting. Measures 8.5" x 6.5", green cloth with qtr red leather on spine. Gilt lettering inc. price of 18/-. Bookplate to pastedown, letter pasted to half-title, frontis engraving: return to Keyhaven after a day's gunning in the winter of 1838, xxvii: dedication to the ninth edition, original dedication in 1830, preface, preface to the ninth edition, engraving of a bust of the author, list of the (40+) plates and woodcuts, contents. 548pp inc. index. The letter pasted to the half-title is from a previous owner to the last owner and it sheds light on the various editions of this work, showing this one to be a very good edition. Condition: internally VG clean pages & plates, externally good, with a small triangular piece of the leather spine gone from the top (replacable). A scarce item. Seller Inventory # 2387
