Bound in handsome half calf gilt by Denny, the spines in compartments gilt ruled, tooled and lettered, cloth sides, t.e.g., marbled endpapers, frontispieces, titles printed in red and black, numerous illustrations and plates throughout (some folding), printed footnotes, alphabetical list of contents at rear. Printed by R. & R. Clark. Condition: VERY GOOD. Bindings tight and secure with the hinges and joints intact. A few marks to rear boards. The interiors fresh and clean, without previous ownership markings. A beautiful set. Notes: Uniform edition of Ingoldsby's Legends, a famous collection of legends and ghost stories and humorous tales that was most popular in the nineteenth century.
