An abolitionist book that discusses the colonization of former slaves in Liberia, as well as recounts the evils of the slave system in the United States. Considerably foxed, and this once belonged to an old-fashioned library with inked stamp on first free endpaper and list of "regulations" pasted onto front paste-down endpaper. Inked stamp also on last paste-down endpaper, and there are small paper labels at bottom of spine with number 326 on one of them and a 5 on the other. Cloth of spine with chipping, mostly at head and foot, but title in bright gilt on spine not affected. Bookseller Inventory # 795
