(London: Macmillan and Co 1876). First UK Edition. later printing (eighteenth thousand), frontispiece, 83 pages (1)pp. ad, with nine illustrations by Henry Holiday. Publisher's red cloth, central gilt vignette to both boards within three gilt circles, boards triple ruled in gilt, spine and all edges gilt, black-coated end-papers. This is an early printing published in the same year as the first edition. Boards bright and clean just a hint of rubbing/softening to the spine tips and to the corners and . Front and rear hinges just starting but still firm. No inscriptions and no marks to the boards. Tissue guard is present between the title page and the frontispiece and with the usual offsetting to the title page (a common occurrence with this title). A very nice VG+ copy which is particularly bright and un-faded (and scarce thus). Photographs/scans available upon request. Seller Inventory # 355490722364
