Very Good+ condition. No Dust Jacket. The Text Block is clean, creamy white, tight, straight, very slightly canted, with a brown topstain, deckled fore-edges, and no markings of any kind. The Binding is full light green cloth (color uniform throughout) with woodcuts, by the illustrator Lynd Ward, pasted on the front and rear boards, a small stain to the front illustration, title, etc., in brownish gray to the spine which is wrinkled in the middle and slightly worn at the head and heal, yellow endpapers unmarked except for prior owner's nameplate on the front endpaper, and corners mostly square but showing wear. No Dust Jacket. See photos. 304 pages. 6" x 8 3/4". While technically a travel book, the author describes in detail the culture, customs, sociology, and, sometimes, the history of the places he has visited, including Tahiti, Martinique, Siam, Ceylon, the East Indies, and Haiti.
