(c.1870). Containing the old and new testaments according to the authorised version. Volume II only. Starts from page 969 - 1116. Ancient writings commonly attached to old testament scriptures and accounted apocryphal. There are then four pages of family register none of which have been filled in, bound in prior to the new testament which runs from pages 1 - 348. 12" x 15" full black leather with five raised bands to spine with gilt decorations. Holy Bible gilt stamped in second compartment. Ezekiel to Revelations gilt stamped in fourth compartment. Leather corners rubbed with some of the leather missing. Marbled end papers. Foxing to end papers and some foxing to edges of earlier pages. This does not effect the actual engravings. All edges gilt. Total of 114 beautiful full page engravings by Dore all with tissue guards. Binding is extremely tight. A really fine example of an early Dore bible. Obviously a very heavy book, please check postage prior to ordering. Seller Inventory # 001312
