The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, released in 1995 by HarperCollins. The Hobbit, 1995 Edition, 1st Impression. The book is in near fine condition, with a near fine unclipped dust jacket. No writing appears inside the book. The text block is clean, with no foxing marks. Some darkening of the paper, but is the same in all books of this edition. The map endpapers are clean and bright, unmarked. Top of the spine of the book has some minor bumps, probably from taking book in and out of the shelf. Features Thror's Map and the Map of Wilderland on the endpapers. Includes five colour illustrations in addition to the eight standard black and white illustrations by J.R.R. Tolkien. Text reset and illustrations re-originated. Also has the original dust jacket design by J.R.R. Tolkien. The dustjacket stands out from other editions because of the gilded moon and gilded borders with dwarven runes. The boards are the original dark green cloth with gold stamping of tolkien's name, The hobbit, publishers name and Tolkien monogram. The dustjacket is unclipped and in fine condition, with some minimal rubbing to the top of the spine and edges. Spine also has been lightly tanned. A very nice copy of the 1995 edition, 1st impression of the Hobbit by HarperCollinsPublishers in a fine dust jacket. Seller Inventory # CLP0058
