About this Item

PUBLISHER: Winnipeg : City Printing and Publishing, 1928. DESCRIPTION: 78 p. : ill. ; 22 cm. Overall Very Good in card covers (one plate is loose at binding but otherwise this plate is without flaw). Illustrated by at least nine plates (cartoons), each of which is protected by tissue-guards. A satirical and humorous account of life in the Icelandic Canadian community in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The author writes about many Iceandic-Canadian luminaries, including poet Guttormur Guttormsson, in a light vein. Pálsson, MD, teacher and doctor in the Arborg-Riverton area of Manitoba, Canada, (who later resided in Saskatchewan and British Columbia) was a well known figure in the Icelandic-Canadian community.
