5.75" x 3.5". 324pp. Leather spine, original printed paper covered boards. Boards fairly heavily rubbed, rear board quite loose but holding, spine chipped and worn, ownership stamp and inscription. Nevertheless, otherwise a VG condition copy of a book almost always seen in poor condition. With a frontis woodcut illustration of the U.S. capitol building, and many other engraved vignette illustrations. This landmark book is considered the first classroom textbook on American history.
