Hardcover, red cloth lettered in gold on spine, in publisher's price-clipped dust-jacket. 523 pages. Bibliography, Index. Illustrated with 8 plates and 6 maps. Reprint (1962), fourth printing. The second volume of Runciman's three volume history, The Kingdom of Jerusalem and the Frankish East, 1100-1187. His work, while enormously influential has been met with criticism, in no small part due to his depiction of the crusaders as "simpletons or barbarians." Still, Runciman remains a standard work in the historiography of the Crusades. No previous ownership marks. Book is clean, fresh and unmarked.
