PRESENTATION COPY, SIGNED by Hiler: "To my old friend and fellow swindler, John Decker, with admiration from Hilaire Hiler, Hollywood 13 Oct. 1934." Plus further inscription below, possibly by the author. Covers soiled and worn, with pencilled scribbling erased, stitching slightly loose. Early work on Hiler (1898-1966), born in St. Paul, lived in Paris, in Hollywood, California, and Santa Fe. He co-authored _Why Abstract?_ with Henry Miller and William Saroyan.
