Samuel ha-Nagid of Granada (993-1055) was based on an earlier work (extant only in fragmentary form) by R. Constantine L'Empereur van Oppyck (1591-1648) was a Dutch Christian Hebraist. He translated the following Hebrew works into Latin: Mishanah, Tractates Midoth and Bava Kama; the Itinerary of Benjamin of Tudela; Ibn Yachya's Commentary to the Book of Daniel; the commentaries of Abravanel and Alsheich to Isaiah; and finally, the work of the grammarian Moses Kimchi.
