Vol. 1, edges are lightly discoloured and foxed. Head edge stained, blue. Pastedowns and free endpapers also foxed. Some page edges showing a little wear and tear. Spine cocked. Head and tail of spine bumped. Binding neat. Colour plates and black-and-white images bright. Blue boards a little faded at the edges. This volume is in good condition. Dust wrapper is showing some wear and tear at the edges. Spine is faded and heavily worn, with some pieces missing. Head and tail also worn. Back cover is creased and torn in some places. Discoloured front, back and spine. Fold backs are also discoloured and showing their age. Else in good condition. Vol. 2, edges are discoloured and lightly foxed. Head edge stained, blue. Pastedowns and free endpapers discoloured and very lightly foxed. Binding cocked. Spine bumped at head and tail. Blue boards a little faded at the edges. Else this volume is in good condition. Dust wrapper is showing signs of wear and tear at the corner and edges. Creases and the occasional scuff mark, front and back. Discoloured, spine more so. Spine is well thumbed and faded, head and tail worn. Rubbed and sporting the odd stain, else in good condition. Vol.3, edges are discoloured and lightly foxed. Head edge is stained, blue. Pastedowns and free endpapers are discoloured and slightly foxed. Colour plates and black-and-white images are clear and bright. Head and tail of spine bumped. Binding strong, although cocked. Blue boards a little faded at the edges. Else this volume is in good condition. Dust wrapper is rubbed and lightly discoloured. Edges and corners are well worn. Small creases and tiny scuff marks grace the front and back covers. Spine is faded and well thumbed. Head and tail of spine worn. Some small tears present along edges, else in good condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.
