Royal octavo, half leather binding with marbled sides, gilt rules. Thirty-one folding maps, with colour details, and engraved title page, b&w frontis plate of ancillary sphere. Complete with 31 plates (31 maps: Germany and Austria are plates XI and XI*). Engraved by James and Josiah Neele. Recently restored, new endpapers, paper title label laid down on upper board. Previous owner's signature verso of frontis plate. Some light foxing, light mark to bottom inner fold throughout. Previous owner has lightly pencilled page numbers on verso of maps. Near-fine condition. Beautifully bound edition of Guthrie's Atlas. 31 maps plus frontis of ancillary sphere. Includes maps of Australasia and Polynesia, showing New Holland and insets of Tasmania and settlements in New South Wales. Seller Inventory # 102874
