This 6.25 x 9.5 inch, 288 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the assumed first printing of the title. The book is in fine condition with very little time wear showing to the blue-green cloth covers - with spine block titling in gilt. The interior text pages are strictly fine with nine full-page photographs to compliment the text. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with wear definitely showing along the top and bottom margins and at the spine - with a few chips missing and with the price clipped from the inside front flap. The book tells the story of Gump?s of San Francisco - ?A Treasure House of Art and one of the most extraordinary establishments in America.? The book highlights the men who built up the store - the collecting of art and treasure from around the world to sell through the store - and the stores survival of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. 288 pages.
