About this title

Synopsis:

Fast-paced, dramatic, literary, and poetic, C.A. MacConnell's debut novel, GRIFFIN FARM, is a sweeping tale about raging love, murder, addictions, brain disorders, horses, rock and roll, and recovery. Chilling, honest, and undeniably real, the story shows the deeply entangled history of two families, revealing one woman's heroic fight to heal.

About the Author:

C.A. MacCONNELL studied writing and film at Hollins University. In 1998, she received a master’s degree in English and Creative Writing. At Hollins, MacConnell won both the prestigious Hollins Fiction Prize and the Hollins Literary Festival Poetry Prize. In 2005, MacConnell won first prize in Cincinnati’s Mercantile Library Short Story Contest. Her work has appeared in numerous national and local publications, and in 2007, her raw, brave advocacy writing created great public interest. Invited to speak, she traveled wide, giving talks at universities, non-profit organizations, and much more, receiving national attention and awards. On the music end, her other passion, in 2010 and 2011, she won the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists award for "Best Rock and Roll Feature Writing." Over the years, she has been a horse trainer, a fruit stand worker, a limousine lover, a gutter punk, a writing teacher, a yoga teacher, and a music writer. MacConnell lives in the Scallycat Mountains with her jerk of a roommate, Buzz. GRIFFIN FARM is her debut novel.
