Black & white illustrations by the author. Prev.owner's name and address on ffep. The boards are rubbed with light soiling, light wear to extremities, light bump to corners. End papers browned. Good People All, Mildred Peabody, illustrated, published by L. L. Doniger and Co., 1941, 1st edition, 95 pages. NF/VG. Description: book; Green boards with gold titles to front board only, 23 illustrations by the author. Dust jacket; Printed on green stock paper with black text and six purple-and-black illustrations. Rear panel is brief into and bio, front flap not price clipped. Condition: book; near fine. Bright, tight, clean example free of any marks or major faults with strong points and straight spine, no crease or signs of rubbing. The spine and top edge of the front board are slightly faded and there is foxing along the gutters of endpapers, else fine. Dust jacket; very good. Clean example. Sunning to the front panel is light and still shows strong purple. Spine is sunned brown. Several tiny nicks and small, closed tares along the top edge, one nick along the bottom edge of front panel, light palm soiling on the leading edge of front panel, but overall still a very good example. Jacket now protected in Brodart. NOTE: Author is best known worldwide for her illustrations. She was former Secretary of the New York Society of Women Artists. All illustrations in this volume deal with her character Emily Beekman Vanderlee & cohorts, but we do not know if they are originals or reproduced from her portfolio. Bookseller Inventory # 3230
