Description:

Royal octavo, thick paper covers with a string tie along the spine and hollow red lettering, frontispiece drawing of a Gibson-type girl (by E. McLean), photo of the school's principal A.W. Scott, 132 pp., b/w photos, b/w drawings, advertisements Girl's High School was a public school. It was created in 1864 when the San Francisco High School (the only public High School in San Francisco at the time) was split in Boys High and Girls High. The school building was damaged in the 1906 earthquake and it was in a variety of locations after that. I'm not sure if it was in a permanent building at the time of this yearbook.
