About this Item
This 6.125 x 9.375 inch, 31 page softcover booklet is the apparent first printing of this title in 1931. This copy is in near fine condition with a bit of wear showing to the paper covers, especially at the stapled spine, and with a touch of wear at the corners. The cover shows a photograph of General Grant Memorial Home, 1865 - - with the title of the booklet below. The 31-page text is in near fine condition with no markings or damage and with the nice assemblage of photographs all clean and clear. This little pamphlet gives an accounting of the story of Galena, Illinois - - from its earliest foundation and into the twentieth century with a special focus on Ulysses Grant, as this was his home town. The photographs and illustrations are very good. 31 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-970
