These two beautifully bound volumes in burgundy leather with gilt lettering are complete. They contain all illustrations, the facsimile coloured plate, the portrait of Nansen and the colour map bound into the rear of volume 1. All corners are bumped. Several specks of white painted on edge of one volume. Shelf wear to all spine ends as the volumes weigh 2.5KG. The edges of the page blocks are foxed, as are the blank pages which follow and precede the leaf illustrated endpapers. Otherwise, these copies are clean bright and tight. There are no pen marks or inscriptions. They are not ex-library. The binding is strong. There are no cracks. This is a beautiful set that was looked after well by previous owners.There are a few very small preventative repairs to map with archival tape used verso. Please examine all seller photos.
