About this Item
Sheet music for minstrel song peformed by E. Freeman Dixey (1833-1904) and written by Henry Angelo, with music by William H. Coulston. First line: "Oh! White folks listen will you now This Darkie's gwine to sing." Chorus: "No use talking, no use talking, It's so now ev'rywhere, to do as folks of fashion do You've got to put on airs." This is a later and apparently more scarce printing; a more common edition displays an engraving of Dixey and has a copyright date of 1858. The verso contains a list of sheet music published by Lee and Walker of Philadelphia. Approx. 11 by 14 inches. Chipping to cover and small tear on right side. Seller Inventory # 16831
