Original cloth-backed green printed boards. Quarto (8 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches). A scarce volume of titled sheets with latitudinal and longitudinal lines for the practice of drawing maps. There are 15 plates designed to be completed by students in geography. Two of the maps (Western Hemisphere & Africa) have been completed in pencil at an early date (one of them signed). The remaining 13 sheets are blank. The map sheets are as follows: 1) The World (2 sheets containing the Western Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere), 2) United States, 3) North America, 4) A State, 5) Mexico and Guatimala (sic), 6) South America, 7) Europe, 8) Great Britain & Ireland, 9) Southern Europe, 10) Germany, 11) Africa, 12) Asia 13) Atlantic Ocean 14) Pacific Ocean. The rear cover contains "Directions for Mapping". A very good copy with some soiling to the wrappers. Internally the leaves are in very good shape for their age with some thumbsoiling and light spotting to a few of the margins. There are no tears or chips to the covers or any of the book's pages.
