This assumed first edition is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in an about good dust jacket in Bordart. It is minimally rubbed. the dust jacket is age darkened at rubbed at all edges producing multiple chips some large although it looks pretty good in new Brodart. It has 147, bright, clear pages extensively illustrated with black & white drawings bound in gray patterned cloth covered boards with dark titles on the spine. Bookseller Inventory # 016984

Book Description Anchordown Company, Darien, Connecticut, U.S.A., 1947. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Presumed 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾", up to 9¾" tall. Gray cloth binding, with black lettering on the spine and front board. Unclipped dust jacket, now protected in an archival mylar cover. Spine ends of the book are lightly bumped. Lower fore-corners of boards are lightly rubbed. Front free endpaper is lightly soiled, with the faint ghost of a now-erased pencil price, otherwise the interior and exterior are unmarked, clean and bright. Binding is slightly shaken, but square, with sound hinges, and the book does not lie flat in any place. Overall, the book is in very good (slightly better than average used) condition. Dust jacket is lightly rubbed and soiled, its corners and spine ends are lightly bumped with mild chipping, the head of the spine has two slightly larger chips (1/2" x 1/8" each, neither affecting text) and a 7/16" closed tear. Otherwise the DJ is bright, unmarked, fairly crisp, and overall in good (average used) condition. Bookseller Inventory # L1201
