This 4.375 x 7.0 inch, 240 page hardcover book is the 1799 third edition of this title as indicated on the title page. This book being 200-plus years old is still in very good condition but with considerable wear showing to the leather covers - with the corners worn through the leather - and with definite edge-wear and wear at the spine hinges. This wear is modest in consideration of the books age and the binding is still firm - and the red block with gilt design and titling on the spine is still very visible and clean. The interior shows age again - with foxing or page-browning showing throughout - but the binding holds firm and the printed content is all easily readable. There is a scattering of creases and markings in the book but this is very modest in number with only two misshapen ?W?s on the rear ffep - written into the book by an owner. The author presents his material through short chapters such as ?The Eggs? - ?The Consideration due to our Servants? - ?Property - or Yours and Mine? - ?The Funeral? - ?The Danger of Crying for Nothing? and ?The Dead Bird? - where several ongoing conversations provide - Moral and Entertaining Stories - for young people. 240 pages.
