Hand-coloured steel engraving 5 x 6 inches. Mounted and framed in conservation materials, overall size 11.5 x 13 inches. Fascinating view from the South Quay looking towards the inner Harbour, and newly completed Harbour House and Clock Tower, and beyond, the Pavilion Hotel. The cross-channel service had started on the 1st. August 1843, and its popularity had brought about the building of the hotel. William Cubitt's handiwork can be seen in the newly constructed S.E.
