Red boards with black lettering on the spine and gilt insignia and lettering upon front cover. Covers are well thumbed and rubbed, with some large swathes of discolouration upon front, back and spine. Head and tail of spine bumped, corners smooth and bear some heavy wear and tear. Free endpapers, pastedowns, title pages and most pages throughout bear moderate discolouration and light foxing. Previous owner's inscriptions upon front pastedown: 'Barry Boyd, 12th Birthday 22-8-47' and another inscription of some kind of score card with the names 'Pud, Giles, Stewart and Frog'. Page edges are moderately discoloured, particularly at the head edge. Gilt page edges. Binding is tidy, although split at title page and rear pastedown. Spine slightly cocked. Previous owner has checked off books they presumably owned on the 'Books by Jules Verne' list verso title page. This book is in poor condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously; they usually present better than they sound. Seller Inventory # CLA070
